About Sharma

Hello! My name is Alvina Sharma, and I am a secondary school teacher at Manurewa High School with over 16 years of teaching experience in Fiji and New Zealand. I hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and teach Mathematics, Accounting, Business Studies, and Commerce.

Teaching is more than a profession for me. It is something I genuinely enjoy because I love helping students discover that they are capable of achieving far more than they think. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing a student go from saying, "I can't do this," to confidently solving problems independently.

I understand that every student learns differently. Some students need extra time, some need concepts explained in a different way, and some simply need someone who believes in them. My role as a tutor is to identify how each student learns best and help them build the skills and confidence needed to succeed.

My lessons are designed to be supportive, engaging, and personalized. I focus on understanding rather than memorization, so students develop skills they can use both in the classroom and in everyday life. I encourage questions, celebrate progress, and create an environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them.

Whether you need help catching up, improving your grades, preparing for assessments, or challenging yourself to achieve excellence, I am committed to helping you reach your goals.

I believe that success in education is not about being naturally gifted. It comes from consistent effort, the right support, and a positive attitude. My goal is to help you build confidence in your abilities and develop a lifelong love of learning.

About the lesson

Every child learns differently. My goal is not just to help students get the right answer, but to help them understand why the answer is correct and build the confidence to solve problems independently.

With over 16 years of teaching experience in Fiji and New Zealand, I have worked with students of all abilities, from those who need extra support to those aiming for excellence. As a current teacher, I understand the New Zealand curriculum and the challenges students face in today's classrooms.

My lessons are:

I believe that every student can succeed when given the right support, encouragement, and learning strategies. Mathematics, Accounting, Business Studies, and Commerce are not just subjects to pass. They are skills that develop logical thinking, confidence, and decision-making for life.

I take pride in building positive relationships with students and families and helping learners achieve their full potential.
