About Joshua
I am currently a student at the University of Canterbury studying engineering. Alongside my studies, I have a strong passion for music and have been involved in it for as long as I can remember. Originally from Palmerston North, I have over 10 years of experience playing guitar and 12 years of singing experience, including 8 years of formal vocal training.
I have achieved Distinction in Trinity College London singing exams from Grades 3 through 8, earning top marks in each. I am also an experienced performer, regularly busking and playing at a variety of events including weddings, birthdays, and local bars. In addition, I have performed in concerts as part of a jazz band, including opportunities to play alongside musicians such as Carl Verheyen.

I take a steady, structured approach to singing and guitar lessons, focusing on building strong fundamentals rather than simply teaching individual songs. By developing a solid foundation in technique and music theory, students gain the skills and confidence to learn thousands of songs independently. I place a strong emphasis on theory while keeping lessons practical, engaging, and enjoyable.
Lessons are 40 minutes long and are suitable for beginner to intermediate singers and guitarists. All ages are welcome.
