About Maja
My musical journey began at the age of 7 when I started taking piano lessons in my home country (Slovenia). Later on, I studied Musicology at the University of Ljubljana whilst teaching piano to children at the local school. My love for music and performing brought me to the UK, where I recently graduated in Musical Theatre. As an aspiring performer, I realise the importance of learning new skills and passing the knowledge on to the next generation in an enjoyable and engaging environment.

When tutoring piano, my approach focuses on a blend of technique, theory, and musical expression tailored to the individual needs and goals of the student.
Here some examples of techniques we'll cover in our lessons:
- Introduction of notation, rhythm, intervals, chords, and key signatures
- Scales and arpeggios
- Ear training
- Articulation and dynamics
- Classical and pop/rock repertoire
I adapt the teaching repertoire to the individual student and learn about their favourite music genres and pieces to keep lessons engaging and relevant. I also provide constructive feedback in each lesson, highlighting strengths and areas for improvement.
My lessons range from 30 to 45 minutes and welcome beginners of all ages, who would like to learn a new skill in a fun and relaxed environment.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Musicology (University of Ljubljana)
- Degree in Musical Theatre (Performance Preparation Academy)
- Piano (Grade 8)
- 2 years of teaching experience
