QUALIFICATIONS
1st Class Bachelor of Music with Honours- 2017 (Royal Northern College of Music)

Grade 8 - Pedal Harp, Lever Harp, Clarinet

8 years experience of private tuition, and group tuition

My performance experience:

I am a very experienced performer and would love to share my skills with others- I have had the pleasure of performing on the harp with orchestras in some of the United Kingdom's most notable venues including The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, The Usher Hall, The Bridgewater Hall (Manchester) and a personal highlight was performing in the BBC Proms at The Royal Albert Hall.

I have twice been nominated for the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award, for singing, playing the saxophone and the harp, and I have played at numerous festivals around the UK - highlights include Celtic Connections, the Hebridean Celtic Festival and the Cambridge Folk Festival.

In 2018 I won the prestigious Gaelic Traditional Singing Gold Medal at the Royal National Mod.

About the lesson

I am an experienced and professional musician. I am passionate about teaching and have over 8 years of tutoring experience. I am happy to teach students of any age (6+) and anybody from absolute beginners, to advanced students.

I am experienced at playing and teaching different genres of music including folk music, classical music and contemporary pop music.

What to expect from my singing lessons:

I believe that everybody has the ability to sing and I can help you improve your confidence with my positive and encouraging attitude! This includes everybody from absolute beginners who have never sung in front of anybody. I like to provide a fun and relaxed atmosphere for my students to be able to sing to the best of their ability.

I can help you develop a healthy vocal technique: every student I have is different therefore I introduce exercises for each of my students according to their abilities and goals.

This can include exercises for
-breath control
-resonance
-tone
-projection
-clarity
-posture
-aural skills

I love to help students with the interpretation and performance of different songs in any genre.

I can help you to create a practice plan that is unique to your needs, time and goals.
