About Charles
I’m Charlie, and music has been a part of my life since early childhood. I started playing the piano and learning music theory at age 5, and went on to play the oboe from age 7, and the organ from age 14. My real passion, however, is choral music. I have been singing in professional choirs from the age of 9, and even got to sing in a couple of TV shows! I want to teach music theory because it is my passion, and something I believe everyone should have a chance to understand and explore.

As a medical student, for a module named “Doctors as Teachers,” I chose to teach music theory to beginners. Here I formed my teaching style of using a combined pedagogy of spaced repetition and active reinforcement, tailored to the level of each student individually.
