About Karen
I love music and teaching. As experienced music teacher Internationally as well as in South Africa (16 years) my students range from 4 years old to adults. I teach piano, violin, vocal, classical guitar and recorder. When I'm not teaching music or English as a foreign language, I like to compose music or do graphic design work.

I teach all levels and describe my teaching style in the following way: “I am passionate about music and my students. I inspire my students to be risk takers, active in their own learning, pushing their own creative and innovative boundaries not only in their performances, but also in their musicianship. From the four teaching styles, my dominant style is the visionary/north teaching style.

Perfect! I was a little nervous because I am not of a musical nature. Nevertheless, I love playing the piano and Karen gave me some great lessons getting me to stretch my goals!
