About Jack

Hi there, I'm Jack, a professional session player, composer, music producer and teacher. I regularly gig in London (or wherever the work takes me!), and have been for about 15 years, as well as teaching in schools as a freelancer. Having recently bought my own place in Streatham (SW16), I've been able to set up a studio here, so can offer lessons from home or online, but also open to in-home tuition, depending on location.

Please note that while the platform states I offer 30 mins free for the first lesson (a default over which I have no control), I'll do you one better, and offer the second entirely on the house.

I'm fully DBS-cleared, and, of course, able to provide references. Just let me know what you need, and I look forward to hearing from you!

About the lesson

Lessons with me aren't your standard fare. The first thing we'll do is establish what music you're into, what styles you'd like to play in, and explore the ways of learning that work for you, not for me.

I don't have a specific template, and no 2 clients will ever have the same lesson. What you'll get from me is exclusive and bespoke tuition.

Like many musicians, I have an understanding and empathy for neurodivergence, as well as extensive personal and professional experience working with it!

My prices are low because this is what I do, I'm honoured to call it my work, and I want to help others achieve the same.

I use Logic Pro X, and have been professionally for the last 8 years. We've all had melodies and ideas in our heads and thought "I wish I could somehow get this down, so I never forget it" - well, you know what the good news is!

If you have a Mac, you're ready, as Garageband, Logic's simpler cousin, comes complimentary with every one.

Maybe you want to learn how to write and record, or perhaps you just want to get creative with beats and loops - either way, there's no previous knowledge of musical theory required.

And while you'll see ads everywhere promoting ropey software telling you the same thing, there is a huge difference: with music production, you learn on the job, and the more you do, the more inspiring it gets as your potential unlocks. Next thing you know, those little ideas are fully fledged tunes, ready to go out into the world...

So whether you'd like lessons, have questions, or even just need a spot of advice, please step right in, I'd love to hear from you!
