About Jack
I am a recent graduate from the university of Aberdeen in community music now studying a masters degree in music performance.
I have experience teaching beginner to intermediate levels with plenty of advanced knowledge to share with potential students. I also have experience organising and facilitating music based workshops for people with an array of musical experience and skillsets from various different communities.

With every new student i would typically start out by having them demonstrate any knowledge they had on the instrument, so that i could quickly asses what level we ought to start on. Typically my experience in teaching the instrument has been with Beginner and intermediate levels from doing placements at local secondary schools during my undergraduate degree.
I also stress the importance of making the lessons as relaxed and care free as possible as i believe every lesson ought to be a fun experience as well as a learning experience. Despite this i always make sure any goals we have set in place are met and with confidence that we have reached the intended learning outcome. Wether it is for an examination, recital or for the fun of it.
In group sessions i often find it beneficial for beginner students to learn from each other as well as learning from me in the sense that it can make the task less daunting when something explained by a peer rather than a teacher, even if it was in a more informal learning enviornment.
I often encourage students i have to think outside of the box in their practice and encourage them to explore what music they would want to play for themselves while also acting as a guide and steering them in the right direction with helpful tip and advice on technique and musicality.

my rates are the same no matter the level of experience.
My cancellation policy is that you must give me at least 48 hours notice, otherwise you will still be charged for a lesson. If you give me enough notice i can either reschedule during that week depending on availability or rollover to the next week if you paid for your lessons in bulk.
