About Abigail
I first discovered my passion for teaching when I was 14, when my neighbor from China asked if I could help her young children with their English homework. Over the last 13 years, I have tutored students in English, German, Philosophy, and Biology.
I aim to make my students love what they learn the same way that I love the subjects that I teach. Life is an eternal lesson and that lesson might as well be enjoyable. I believe that learning should never be demoralizing, drudgery, or embarrassing. I seek to inspire confidence, passion, and mastery in my students.

I've been tutoring on and off since I was in grade 9, and there is nothing that I love more than helping a student feel confident and comfortable in their area of study, except for helping them love the subject in addition to mastering it.
I teach all levels of English, German, Philosophy, and Biology. I aim to help language learners obtain a natural and colloquial mastery of English and German through use of film, casual conversation, songs, games, and stress-free immersion. All of these things were of great help to me when I was a language learner, and my past students have had great success with these methods. I never want a student to feel embarrassed or ashamed of their language skills.
I also have a passion for biology, in particular anatomy, physiology, pathology, and pharmacology and I have worked as a pathology researcher for a large drug development company. I use mnemonics, games, case studies, medical mysteries, and history to make learning fun and accessible.
