About Marina
Hi, My name is Marina and I am excited to meet you and support you in achieving your short and long-term goals. I offer... -- personalised classes matching your needs, step by step -- specialised in outlining excellent thesis structures -- helping you find your unique voice, both as a creative and researcher -- help to develop your arguments matching the aims of your research -- expanding your critical thinking -- making you proficient in finding good resources and helping you expand your bibliography according to topic -- supporting you in keeping a good study focus and maintain constructive productivity -- helping you find and/or maintain motivation along the process -- helping you establish long-term confidence in your academic and/or creative path In addition... -- support in writing job/academic/funding applications -- helping to prepare for interviews As a researcher (currently investing the negative aspects of the biofuel industry) and multimedia creative, I have lived through the ups and downs of academic as well as artistic processes. Thanks to my experiences, I am now able to support other people in finding their way and unique voice, accomplishing their studies with high-quality results, as well as establishing confidence and joy. A little about me... My academic background stretches from my undergraduate degree in English with Creative Writing at Brunel University London to my MA Comparative Literature at University College London and my MSc Climate Justice at Glasgow Caledonian University. During my BA English with Creative Writing, I focused on black feminism and post-colonialism while developing my skills as a creative writer, primarily in poetry and screenwriting. Moving to London from Sweden in 2015 and studying in English was a great challenge, but I fulfilled my dream of becoming fluent in English, now flourishing as a multilingual writer. Parallel to my bachelor's, I worked as a theatre producer assistant, researching and writing grant applications. In my interdisciplinary MA Comparative Literature degree, I researched affect and gender theory in the context of the Syrian refugee "crisis". Modules in anthropology, global gender politics and global politics, combined with studies in post-structuralism, navigated me to discuss the human rights concept of the right to life. Judith Butler's work on grievability and gender theory inspired me to combine an analysis of emotional politics with socio-political challenges. Correspondingly, this resulted in a dissertation project discussing the emotional and legislative meaning of nation-state borders, the concept of the Western spectator and the production of exclusionary processes, which creates the Subaltern in opposition to the Western subject. Since graduating from my master's at UCL in 2019, I have worked as a climate and social rights communicator and campaigner for various climate justice groups. Since November 2021, I am part of the Cloudberry Collective which supports decolonial initiatives across Europe. This year I was invited to become part of the board of Protect the Forests Sweden, while also doing research for Biofuelwatch. I am still a student, proceeding with MSc Climate Justice via Glasgow Caledonian University (online and part-time) to advance my skills in human and ecological rights perspectives. Parallel to my academic career I have worked as a writer, illustrator and photographer. I look forward to hearing from you! Marina

Marina played a crucial role in becoming more confident in my writing style. Her encouraging feedback and constructive suggestions made me feel more assured about the story I was trying to tell. Additionally, she provided valuable insights on framing my writing to cater to different audiences.
Marina was of massive help in supporting me when writing my CV as well as outlining, tailoring and formatting multiple cover letters. She is a wonderful listener and has the great ability to adapt her knowledge in creative ways over different subjects. Working with Marina helped me getting confidence in both my writing and communications skills. Thanks to her support I had several interviews and got the job I wished of.
I had a lovely experience working with Marina. Besides being kind, patient, thoughtful, supportive, and an excellent writer, she brings a lot of creative ideas to the table. Her guidance was invaluable, and I was very pleased with the outcome of my two creative writing pieces in English that we wrote together. As well as that, Marina also helped me write a 5000 word essay, which I found difficult at first. However, once we worked on it together and wrote bit by bit into the essay, I was very happy with the result. In addition to explaining things well, Marina taught me a lot about English in general and how to incorporate sources into my essay correctly. She also encouraged me to be more creative and made me feel more confident in my writing skills. Marina always replied replied to my messages quickly if I needed extra help, and was always willing to do so. She’s absolutely wonderful, and I truly admire her dedication!
I have worked with Marina at a nursery in South London for a year. She's such a kind, patient young woman who will go out of her way to help people. She's passionate about her work and has a positive, calming presence when teaching. I believe she's an excellent tutor as she is reliable, knowledgeable and loves figuring out ways for people to understand best!
Marina is kind and patient, and explains thoughtfully and clearly.
