About Mali
Hello! My name is Kamalia, but you can call me Mali. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish language and literature, and a minor in Chinese language and literature and Master’s Degree in Health Promotion and Management. As a fun fact, I am a multi award-winning author and love using my creativity to help others learn and grow. My goal as your teacher is to help you grow in your confidence and knowledge of the English language in your reading, writing and speech by working with you at your current level and helping you grow even beyond what you might expect for yourself. I am SO EXCITED for us to get to know each other and see you become even better than me! I can't wait to see you! :)

From our initial conversation, I will meet you where you currently and together we can gauge where you would like to be as our meet-ups continue. I will tailor the lessons I have toward your end goals and fit in fun and creative strategies that will make your time with me as enjoyable as possible!
- A typical lesson plan
During our first meeting, I will have some activities prepared that will help me gauge where you currently are and then we will converse about what you would like to achieve along the way as we grow together!
Following this, a typical lesson plan involves:
1. Lesson, Objective and Goal(s) of the Day
2. Recap of Previous Lesson/homework (if assigned) and Reach out for Student Feedback
3. Description of the day's tasks or assignments
4. Review of Assignments/Tasks
5. Communicate action items (homework) to be accomplished prior to next lesson
- What sets you apart as a tutor
I enjoy visual aids and interactive activities, and my skills in public speech and writing often allow me to be able to explain difficult concepts in a variety of ways so that my students feel that they can understand a lesson thoroughly.

While I have recently taught adults in terms of basic themes such as business and religion, I can (and have) successfully cater my lessons to adjust to the appropriate age of my audience as low as pre-teens.
