About James
I am an analytical chemist with an MSc and over 6 years of practical laboratory experience in instrument operation and analytical testing. Throughout my academic and commercial work, I have operated and maintained instrumentation that includes UHPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, Orbitrap MS, and ICP-OES. My graduate research at the University of Alberta focused on method development for challenging bioanalytical targets, including the design of a native mass spectrometry protocol for detecting low-affinity glycan binding protein-glycosphingolipid interactions. These projects deepened my skills in troubleshooting, technical writing, and method validation, led to multiple peer-reviewed publications, and involved collaboration with cross-functional teams across the university. In addition to research, I served as a graduate teaching assistant, mentoring undergraduate students in analytical chemistry fundamentals and laboratory safety protocols.
