About Cecilia

I am a dedicated violin tutor with 8 years of teaching and professional music experience, committed to helping students grow as skilled, confident, and expressive musicians. I teach violin to school and college students at all levels, from beginners discovering foundational techniques to advanced learners preparing for recitals, exams, and performances.

One of the most meaningful milestones in my career has been helping students progress from struggling with posture, technique, or confidence to performing with skill, emotion, and expression. My teaching approach emphasises building strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical expression, and emotional connection.

I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, and listening exercises to ensure students develop a complete understanding of music. I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and motivating environment. Teaching violin allows me to inspire students, build confidence, and cultivate a lifelong love for music.

About the lesson

I teach violin using a methodology focused on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, aiming to develop technically skilled, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are tailored to the student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, balancing structured technical exercises, creative exploration, and performance preparation.

Motivation drives learning. I help students set achievable goals, track their progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering confidence, engagement, and perseverance. Communication ensures lessons are interactive, collaborative, and supportive, allowing students to ask questions, express challenges, and share creative ideas freely.

Creativity is integrated into every lesson through improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises, helping students develop a personal artistic voice and emotional connection to music. Integrity encourages disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, forming habits that support long-term growth and excellence.

In addition to violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and introductory piano, giving students a complete understanding of music. This methodology ensures technical mastery, artistic expression, confidence, and lifelong engagement.
