About Risa
Music exists as an oral tradition before it ever touches a page, which is why I prioritize listening over reading during our early sessions. My DMA from the Michigan School of Music anchors a 13-year career that emphasizes imitation before analysis. I find that learning through the Suzuki method provides a foundational clarity that lasts a lifetime.
Developing technical facility requires focus on posture and hold alongside consistent tone production. Whether we work on grade exam prep for ABRSM or Trinity, I ensure that foundational music theory is woven into every study. You will gain mastery over spiccato and staccato bowing while exploring classical and contemporary repertoire.
