About Holley
My undergraduate degree is in Psychology and Social Work, and my graduate degree is in English and Creative Writing. I enjoy discussing literature, and the psychology behind some of the most famous authors. We will read, discuss this book and dig deeper into what is considered by most a dark comedy. The class consists of learning more about the author, where he is from, the time period that the book was written. Students will be expected to prepare a final writing assignment on a character choice from the story.

Let's discuss Southern Gothic, William Faulkner, As I Lay Dying (1930) As I Lay Dying is not only about mortality insofar as it concerns Addie Bundren's death. More deeply, the novel explores the theme of mortality by showing each of Addie's family members, loved ones, and other acquaintances offer unique responses to her death, attempting to make sense of the nature of existence.
