About Laurie
"Having completed an MMus Music Performance at the Royal College of Music, I often find myself reflecting on the path that led here. My 13 years in the studio have allowed me to work with a wide range of students, from nervous beginners to those preparing for grade exams. I prioritise sight transposition, ear training, and memorisation techniques alongside foundational work on posture and hand position.
My focus centres on scales, arpeggios, pedalling technique, and music theory as essential components of classical repertoire. By meeting each student where they are, I aim to provide a steady, calm environment for growth. You can expect a patient approach where we explore the mechanics of playing with clarity and focus."
