About Anna

Hello,

My name is Anna, and I am a Life Coach and Philosophy Teacher based in Cambridge, UK.

I practice philosophical life coaching. I hold an MA in Philosophy and an AC-accredited qualification for Life Coaches, as well as multiple other relevant qualifications related to coaching, wellbeing, mental health and counselling skills. I've included the list below for you.

I work successfully around multiple issues related to relationships, self-discovery and self-care, but I also specialise in neurodiversity coaching.

My main interests oscillate around Philosophy, Psychology and Neuroscience, but I am also highly passionate about literature, art and a healthy lifestyle. I am a trustworthy and empathetic person, both in my private and professional life, since the integrity and the values I stand for play an important part in my life.

In my free time, I love watching European cinema, walking my rescued dog Patron and writing poetry.

Being a member of the Cambridge Triratna Buddhist Centre gives me precious insights into Eastern Philosophy. Hence, one of my favourite work methods is mindfulness training, which allows us to immerse ourselves in the here and now to cope better with the overstimulation and challenges of the rapidly changing modern world.

My strengths are constant improvement of the quality of my services, high professional ethics, cognitive openness and a sincere desire to help. I am deeply convinced that, although life wisdom leads to self-knowledge, genuine conversation - an authentic relationship with another person (including a professional) can have an invaluably positive impact on the human psyche.

Credibility: I went through the process of my own therapy in the Jungian approach. I hold an Insurance policy for Complementary Therapists and Healthcare Professionals. Moreover, I underwent supervision at the Coaching Academy.

Main areas of my personal & professional interests:
~ Ancient Philosophy
~ Existentialism
~ Ethics (utilitarianism, deontology, virtue ethics)
~ Existential crisis (questions about the meaning of life, my place in the world)
~ Broadly understood personal development
~ Women's empowerment

"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes." Marcel Proust

Philosophy means 'the love of wisdom', and is not merely an academic discipline, but in its beginnings, it was primarily the art of living well. Coach, on the other hand, according to the International Coach Federation: ' (...) helps the client to achieve their personal best and to produce the results they want in their personal and professional lives.' Thus, emphasising this practical aspect of applied philosophy, I offer you consultations in this area.

Therefore, through philosophical tools, such as analytical and logical thinking tools, we can look at the problem from different perspectives. I pay close attention to the ethical aspect of the issues discussed to help my clients find the best solutions for a given situation. In my work, I use the Socratic questioning method, thanks to which my clients have the opportunity to find the resources within themselves in order to take actions aimed at achieving the set goals. I also use philosophical theories, especially stoicism, thanks to which we look at what and how we can influence, and what in turn should be let go, as it is beyond our control.

Moreover, by education and professionally, I am also a teacher of Philosophy & Religious Studies in Cambridge, UK (including adult learning), and a linguist. Therefore, I have knowledge, experience, as well as formal qualifications in the field of pedagogy and positive psychology, which allows me to approach my work in a multidisciplinary manner and select the most personalised methods to meet the individual needs of each client.

I can support you if:

->You feel that you are going through difficulties that you would call an existential crisis (so-called 'life crisis', e.g. related to change, loss, and adaptation difficulties
->You feel 'stuck' and in need of inspiration and motivation to act
->You're neurodivergent and in need of support with executive functioning, self-acceptance or effective communication
->You desire to raise self-awareness
->You want to replace harmful habits with those that support your development and self-fulfilment
->You feel a need for honest communication in a safe, nonjudgmental space
->You are interested in Philosophy and Social Sciences and would like to discuss some topics related to that field
->You are concerned about questions related to the theory of value, such as: What is freedom? What is friendship? What is my life's priority at the moment?
->You wish to work on the quality of your relationships, e.g. communication
->You are a parent experiencing some difficulties in your parenthood
->You need structure and support in mapping out your short and long-term goals
->You are looking for solutions to dilemmas regarding ethics and morality
->You are struggling with your emigration experience (homesickness, sense of belonging, identity)

Tools & techniques I am using:
- Stoicism
- Philosophy of dialogue
- Logic
- Nonviolent Communication (NVC)
- Logotherapy – searching for meaning and self-knowledge
- Cognitive-behavioural therapy techniques (behaviour change and goal-oriented)
