Math is a subject that requires understanding. It requires visualization. What' the purpose? I like to use visuals and manipulative as a means to understand content. It is very important that students see the reason why they do what they do in order to grow in their understanding of math concepts. Teachers must be creative in their approach of how to teach particular math concepts.
