About Faith

Hi, I’m Faith, and I’ve been in the medical field for several years through hands-on patient care and continued education. Along the way, I developed a passion for helping students who are navigating tough science and nursing courses. • Bacterial structure & function (cell walls, membranes, organelles)
• Viruses, fungi, protozoa, and parasites
• Microbial growth & metabolism (energy production, enzymes, fermentation, respiration)
• Microbial genetics (DNA replication, transcription, translation, mutations, gene transfer)
• Immunology basics (innate vs adaptive immunity, vaccines, hypersensitivity)
• Pathogenic microorganisms & disease mechanisms
• Antibiotics, antimicrobial resistance, and mechanisms of action
• Epidemiology & public health relevance

Lab Skills:
• Aseptic technique and safe lab practices
• Using a microscope (brightfield, oil immersion, proper focusing)
• Streak plating, isolation, and pure culture techniques
• Staining procedures (Gram stain, acid-fast, spore, capsule, simple stains)
• Culture media & biochemical testing (selective vs. differential media)
• Identifying microbes by shape, color, colony morphology, and test results
• Preparing and interpreting slides
• Fermentation tubes, SIM tests, catalase, oxidase, urease, and other diagnostic tests
• Determining unknown organisms from lab results
• Lab reports, data interpretation, and exam prep
