About Mikheil
Hi, I'm Mikheil. I'm a passionate and a seasoned tutor with focus on Biology and Chemistry. I am Biochemistry graduate from the University of Edinburgh (UK) and a former IB student myself, I sat HL Biology and Chemistry, so I know the exam from the other side of the desk too. I now run a scientific R&D company, but teaching has stayed alongside it the whole time.
I've worked with students from high school through first-year university with a wide variety of backgrounds. I have founded a youth science program teaching frugal science that won a National Science Foundation grant.
What I care about most as a tutor: making the material actually click, building real confidence before the exam, and making sure no question feels stupid. Lessons run in English or Russian, whichever you prefer.

Every student starts with a diagnostic phase to find where you're actually losing marks — both general academic patterns and specific syllabus gaps. Every error gets categorized as conceptual, memory, or exam-technique, because each one needs a different fix.
I track progress in a custom Excel system, run a spaced repetition schedule, and work past-paper questions weekly. Alongside the content, we train the performance side: focus, anxiety management, recovery under exam pressure.
Who I work with. IB HL/SL, A-Level (AQA, OCR, Edexcel), IGCSE/GCSE, and first-year university biochemistry students — especially those on medical or graduate-school tracks. Lessons can run in English or Russian, and I can switch between the two within a session for students who think in one language and study in the other.
What's different about working with me. Three things in combination:
1. Every student is different. I focus on understanding and connecting with my students, so I can best tailor the lesson for their specific needs.
2. I'm a working scientist. The science I teach is the science I currently do.
3. For students preparing for competitive university applications, I can broker supervised research placements: internships at my company, projects at partner labs in Georgia, and remote opportunities with international labs in my network.
I take a limited number of students at a time.
