About Bruce
Beginners often struggle with rigid technique until they find the right flow. My BMus from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music shapes how I teach spiccato and staccato bowing alongside left hand agility. I emphasize double stops and tuning by ear to ensure pitch accuracy.
Developing intonation and sight reading skills turns novices into musicians. Ear training rounds out your technical foundation. Music has been my life since childhood, and I want to see you play with confidence.

Technique should never stifle the joy of playing. 10.0 is the score I assign to my practice support systems.
My 13 years of teaching inform how I build your performance skills methodically. I provide recorded playback of tricky passages so you have a guide for home practice.
This audio resource helps you refine your bow control and finger placement between our meetings. The Melbourne Conservatorium curriculum underpins my approach to every complex piece.
You will gain clarity on rhythm and dynamic phrasing through these recordings. Practicing becomes a targeted exercise rather than a guessing game. Soon you will walk onto the stage with total ease and command over your violin.
