About Beatriz

Hello, everyone! My name is Beatriz, I am 22 years old and I live in Portugal. Currently, I am in the 4th year of Medicine at the University of Coimbra, a city that, in addition to being the birthplace of many students, has also become my home, making the Mondego River the backdrop of the unfolding of my life.
However, along with the scientific medical aspect that pulsates in my heart, I share an inexhaustible interest in humanistic areas, with writing, philosophy and psychology playing an assiduous role in my day, contributing inexorably to the construction and modulation of my identity. At this moment, with studies being a priority in my life, I recognize that it is through rlearning that I find escape to my dreams.
Thus, I propose myself to this challenge of teaching Maths with the expectation of not only of teaching, but also to apprehend and contribute to what each single student brings with his personal background

About the lesson

In fact, I have no certification in education and the only experience I have in this area is at the level of tutoring, however, I believe that when the heart knows where it wants to go, reason finds a way to make it happen, so, despite not being proficient in education, I have always found a way to, together with the students, understand the needs, objectives, limitations and potentials of each one, which allowed them, without feelings of pressure or failure, to achieve their goals with motivation and enthusiasm.
In addition, finding myself in medical school, where time is short due to the dense content we have to learn and master, I necessarily had to develop a sense of organization, method and rigor in the contents I have learned, because, in fact, more importantly than the time we devote to something, is the attention and predisposition with which we do it. In this way, I propose, at an early stage, to understand the motivations, interests and objectives that lead the student to seek to learn Portuguese, so that we can always remember these key points throughout the classes. In a second moment, we would establish the methodology that best suits the student, because I consider this fundamental to combat the discourage and disinterest that inevitably arise in life.
Finally, taking these two aspects into consideration, I would formulate a "Work Proposal" that would be provided to the student before, so that we can always better perform the teamwork for the common goal: to succeed in this journey, always in a light and happy way.
