About Christianah

I am a medical student and an experienced tutor, primarily for 11+ preparation and many of the students I taught have gone on to pass their 11+ and go to the grammar schools of their choice. This is inclusive of English, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, and Maths.
Due to my foundation in 11+ tutoring, I am also able to teach children at the primary school level, even if they do not intend on sitting the 11+ examination.

I am also an experienced academic tutor at the GCSE level, helping students to feel more confident going into exams and mock exams, helping them in their areas of weakness (especially in Maths, Biology, and Chemistry, however, I am open to teaching a variety of subjects).
Many students that I have previously tutored have had a positive experience being tutored by me and am I always receptive to constructive criticism to better myself as a tutor.

About the lesson

I provide lessons for primary school students (11+ examinations) and secondary school students (including those entering GCSE exams).

My teaching method is based on optimising the student's strengths and improving upon their weaknesses.
I will give them different methods and studying techniques that can be applied to various subjects and help them understand what they are doing, not just solving the problem in front of them.

I will follow the school curriculum to ensure they understand what they are being taught in class and fill any gaps in their knowledge, as well as doing some additional teaching to help them get ahead.
Using resources like the Bond series (for those preparing for their 11+), I will use workbooks and worksheets to teach, following the layout of the book (i.e. progressing from chapter 1 to chapter 2).

At the end of each session, I will ask the student if they have any particular areas that they are struggling in so I can find the relevant resources relating to that topic and go through it with them the next session to increase their confidence and help them with setting new targets for them to accomplish before the next session.

My lessons will all take place online via Zoom and there is no difference in the fee, regardless of the level of teaching.
If you wish to cancel your lesson, I will need at minimum 24 hours notice.
