About Rhea
Hi, I am Rhea and I'm a first-year medical student at the University of Southampton! I have been tutoring for three years and I would describe myself as a friendly, reliable person with good communication skills. I am also punctual and organised, which makes me a very responsible individual on whom you can depend. Having gone through exams my whole life, I can understand the stress and anxiety that comes along with them, however, I am here to make the process easier, with simple explanations and academic support!

Having achieved all 9s in my GCSEs and 44/45 points in my International Baccalaureate exams, I am well-equipped with the knowledge of how to succeed in exams and the best methods of revision which I can pass on to my tutees. My approach to tutoring is based on the principles of active recall and spaced repetition; these are the most scientifically well-proven methods of study. It involves testing pupils at regular, spaced intervals to assess their level of knowledge as well as encouraging students to periodically test themselves. Furthermore, I explain concepts in simple, real-world terms and allow students to explain concepts in their own words to gauge their level of understanding also. I am also perceptive to students' weaker topics, in order to explore those in greater depth. I am available to teach mathematics & English for all primary school years as well as 11+ coaching in all four subject areas. I can also teach mathematics, English, biology, chemistry, physics and German from KS3 to GCSE level. I provide coaching for medical school applications including UCAT, personal statement & interview preparation, being equipped with the skills gained after a lengthy, but successful application cycle. All lessons will take place remotely, online with flexible timings. Lessons can range from 45 mins to 2 hours.
