About Tosin
I have a genuine interest in and a strong foundation in biology, achieving an A in the subject at both the A-level and GCSE. This interest also led me to study a medical biochemistry degree at the University of Leicester, where I achieved a 1st class honours scoring in top 5%.
During my time at university, I wanted to get involved by working with my younger peers and school leavers who would be entering university and/or studying my course or one related. This led me to volunteer as a peer mentor to 1st-year students on my degree programme and a mentor to year 12 students applying to university on the zero gravity platform, where I had sessions with students remotely.
Upon completing my degree, I also decided to study medicine, and I got a place to study at Warwick Medical School this September to pursue becoming a doctor. With all my experiences, I want to help students with similar aspirations realise their goals by working flexibly and holistically in my lessons so that they are rewarding and helpful :)

I like to tailor lessons on a person-to-person basis, depending on individual needs and goals. I want to start by setting out a plan with the student and assessing their strengths and weaknesses so that lessons are targeted.
This can be determined through a short skills test covering the entire topic broadly or by discussing the student's grades and current academic performance. We set short-term and long-term goals with the student.
Sessions can range from 30 minutes to 5 hours, and my teaching style is flexible. I sometimes find that some learn better by working through exam questions and examples to grasp content. In contrast, others prefer the classic teaching method of explaining topic by topic.
Where aid with the material isn't required, I also provide support with exam prep and marking: I familiarise myself with the exam board and help students increase their chances of answering questions correctly and improving their exam technique.
