About Elspeth
I am a supportive and enthusiastic tutor, passionate about helping students to build confidence and succeed in their exams. I have had excellent experiences with tutors for myself who provided clear explanations and personalised support, and I want to offer the same high level of guidance to others.
I create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as I believe this is the key to learning and understanding a subject. I tailor lessons to each student’s needs, helping them improve their skills, strengthen understanding, and become more confident, independent learners.

Hello! I offer tutoring in Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry at GCSE and Maths for A-level. My lessons focus on building confidence, strong subject understanding, and effective exam technique.
I tailor each lesson to the individual student, breaking down difficult topics into clear steps and using worked examples, guided practice, and exam-style questions. I aim to identify gaps in knowledge and help students develop problem-solving skills rather than memorising methods.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes.
I achieved Grade 9s at GCSE, As at A-level. I also have prior experience tutoring GCSE Maths and Chemistry.
My lessons are suitable for secondary-school students of all abilities, from those needing extra support to students aiming for top grades.
