About Siya
I’m Siya and I’m a medical student. I achieved ten 9's at GCSE, three A’s in A-level Biology, Chemistry and Maths, and I scored 3290 in the UCAT. I’ve worked hard to get where I am, and I understand the challenges that come with academic pressure—especially in science and maths. I started tutoring because I genuinely enjoy helping others learn and feel more confident in subjects that can seem overwhelming. I know how valuable it is to have someone explain things clearly, break topics down, and support you through exam preparation. Whether you're aiming for top grades or just trying to feel more in control of your studies, I'm here to help. I’m passionate about teaching because I’ve seen how the right support can transform someone’s learning experience—and I’d love to be part of that journey with you!

My approach to tutoring is student-focused, supportive, and adaptable. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adjust my teaching style to suit their individual needs—whether they’re visual learners, need step-by-step explanations, or benefit from practical examples. I aim to create a friendly and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because that’s how real learning happens. I use active recall, spaced repetition, and question-based learning to help students truly understand and retain information. I break complex topics into simpler parts, relate them to real-life situations when possible, and regularly check understanding to ensure steady progress. My lessons typically last around 60 minutes, which allows enough time to review previous content, explain new material, and practise together without overwhelming the student. In terms of qualifications and experience, I'm currently a medical student, so I have a strong academic background in science and maths. I’ve also helped peers and younger students informally with subjects like biology, chemistry, and maths, and I’ve received positive feedback on how clearly I explain things. My lessons are best suited for students aged 11–18, particularly those studying for their GCSEs or A-levels in science and maths.
