About Rana
Teaching is incredibly fulfilling, and knowing that I helped the progress of students is something that can bring me great joy; as a tutor with 9 months of experience, I know this is true. The school environment itself can be difficult to learn in; I aim to mitigate the hurdles of full classrooms to a student’s learning, and can promise teaching that is specific to a student’s needs.

My tutoring is aimed at students in secondary school education (KS3), as well as students taking GCSEs that include: the sciences, Latin, English literature, and English language. I received two 9s in English GCSE for language and literature, and a 9 for Latin for which I received an A at A-level.
I know that I learn best in an interactive environment, with someone talking me through a concept in full detail and asking me questions along the way: this is the tailored approach that I can promise to any student who I tutor. I also aim to, after going through a concept, build up confidence by putting knowledge to the test by attempting the most difficult questions, and walking through it together step by step. I aim to accomplish a deep understanding of a concept, rather than just “knowing what you need to know” for an exam - this is key for the difficult “application questions”, and is what distinguishes students with the highest grades, from students achieving average ones or lower.
