About Kia

I’m a graduate-entry medical student with a BSc in Biomedical Sciences and an MRes in Biosciences, and I’m passionate about helping students understand biology rather than simply memorising it.

I know that biology can feel overwhelming when there are lots of processes, pathways and terminology to remember. My aim is to break difficult topics down into clear, manageable explanations and help you develop the confidence to tackle questions independently.

Whether you’re struggling with a particular topic, preparing for exams, or looking to push your grades further, I can tailor lessons around your individual needs and learning style.

I’m particularly comfortable helping students with GCSE and A-Level Biology, including exam preparation, difficult topics, revision strategies and exam technique.

About the lesson

Lessons are personalised to you. We can focus on whatever will make the biggest difference to your progress, whether that’s learning a difficult topic from scratch, working through exam questions, improving your answers or preparing for upcoming exams.

I’ll help you understand the why behind biological processes, rather than relying solely on memorisation. We can use diagrams, worked examples, active recall and exam-style questions to make sure you can actually apply what you’ve learnt.

A typical lesson might include:

* Identifying areas you’re finding difficult
* Breaking down complex biological concepts into simpler steps
* Working through diagrams and processes together
* Practising exam-style questions
* Improving exam technique and written answers
* Reviewing mistakes and identifying exactly how to improve
* Building a revision strategy around your upcoming exams
