About Steve

I am a final year medical student studying in St George’s University of London. I have done a previous degree in Neuroscience (BSc) (Hons), for which I received a First-Class Honours. As a medical student I have learnt that as a doctor, you are not just a scientist but a teacher to your patients. Information giving is a key part of your job, and make sure that the patient is able to understand what you are explaining. I want to approach my teaching in the similar way as well, where I will break down complex scientific concepts into simple terms, with finding a way that works best for my tutee. I have also been working part-time as a cashier in Tesco since 2008. Balancing part-time work with my full-time education has helped me develop excellent organisational skills and I hope to help my tutees with managing their time as well.

About the lesson

My approach towards teaching is working with the student in what they want to achieve. As a trainee doctor we have to break complex concepts into simple steps. This is exact what i hope to teach my tutees as well.

Dr

I wholeheartedly recommend Steve's application to be a tutor with your agency. I was the Lead for Clinical Skills when he was a GEP Y1 student at SGUL (St Georges University of London), and oversaw his cohort during clinical skills sessions. From what I observed, Steve always came across as a professional, hardworking, enthusiastic student who is keen to learn. He also demonstrated a sound grasp of clinical skills across the breadth of the curriculum, and seemed to have an excellent knowledge base and clinical skills set. I feel that he would be a brilliant tutor, and one whose professionalism and enthusiasm is likely to be exemplary for your learners.

Yours Sincerely,

Dr Hamed Khan (GP & Senior Lecturer)
