About Tom
I achieved eleven 9s at GCSE and an A (highest grade) in FSMQ. At A-level I achieved three A* in maths, biology and chemistry and an A in further maths. Now, I study medicine at the University of Cambridge and am going into 2nd year after having achieved a 1st class for my end of year exams. I speak French and Spanish quite fluently as I was brought up speaking them and also did them both for GCSE. I did French up to an AS level in school, but I am comfortable reading French literature and helping with A-level speaking, reading, writing and listening.

For GCSE/A-level science and maths there will be a heavy focus on past paper questions as per the exam board. It is also important to internalise and understand the content before attempting past papers and so explanations which maybe go outside the specification are sometimes necessary. I am happy to focus on areas where you feel you are struggling or to create a plan. For languages, speaking practice is important as it helps with fluency in all areas, including reading and writing. Spaced repetition for the learning of vocabulary and grammar will help to commit concepts to memory and also improve fluency.
