About Ivy Idi
My name is Ivy, often reffered to as Miss Ivy. I am a Medical Doctor by profession and I have also discovered my love for teaching over the past 10years. I am a TEFL certified tutor. I enjoy reading,music,traveling,sport and exploring all these aspects through teaching English is quite fulfilling for me. I always like to engage my students in using the English language in their practical lives and also explore their imaginations. Creating a fun environment for learning has proved to be a very effective method of teaching and I use this for my students.

My lessons are designed for various age groups from Young learners to adults. Typically lessons are 45-90mins long depending on age and goals of learning. I like to use the lexical approach in teaching which is more direct.
Total physical response (TPR) , is also more suitable for young learners as it is learning-by-doing approach. I also use
Grammar & translation method when needed mostly with adults.
And ultimately in my 9yrs of teaching English I have found the communicative language learning approach to be very effective. All my lessons are tailor made to suit the learner's requirements.
