About Helee

I have a TESOL certificate from Arizona State University, which enables me further to effectively teach English to people of various ages & cultures. Moreover, during my undergraduate studies, I volunteered at Salaam Baalak Trust, an NGO started by Mira Nair. I used to tutor underprivileged children ranging from the ages of 5-17 years old with their schoolwork, specifically English. I have also worked with Salaam Bombay Foundation as a Student Mentor in their annual exhibit. In that capacity, I mentored 10 children in English & Photography. My methodology is learning with empathy, confidence, & fun!

About the lesson

My approach is rooted in creating a comfortable, supportive environment where students feel safe to express themselves. I break complex topics into manageable pieces and use engaging tools like music, videos, interactive activities, and visual aids to help students grasp concepts before moving on to more advanced tasks.

I also emphasize constructive feedback to build not just language skills, but also openness to diverse perspectives. My goal is to help students use their language skills to enrich their lives & ultimately, become global citizens.
