About John

Hello, I’m John.

I hold an MBA, an MSc in Occupational Psychology and a BSc in Psychology, and currently work as a Regional Hospital Director, leading specialist healthcare services across multiple sites. Alongside my leadership career, I’ve always enjoyed helping others to learn, develop and achieve their goals.

My professional background means I don’t just teach theory—I apply it every day. Whether it’s psychology, leadership, business or academic writing, I enjoy helping students understand complex ideas in a way that is practical, engaging and easy to grasp.

I’m approachable, patient and genuinely invested in seeing my students succeed. I believe that with the right guidance, everyone can build confidence, think more critically and reach their academic potential.

About the lesson

My teaching is centred around understanding rather than memorisation. Whether you’re studying Business or Psychology at A-Level, undergraduate or postgraduate level, my aim is to help you develop the knowledge, critical thinking and confidence needed to produce high-quality academic work.

Every student learns differently, so I tailor sessions to your individual goals. Whether you’re preparing for an exam, struggling with a particular topic, planning a dissertation or looking to improve your essay writing, we’ll work together to build your understanding in a structured and supportive way.

Rather than simply giving answers, I’ll help you understand how to analyse evidence, evaluate different viewpoints, construct strong academic arguments and write with clarity and confidence. These are the skills that consistently lead to better grades and remain valuable long after your course has finished.

Alongside my academic qualifications, I bring extensive senior leadership experience, allowing me to connect theory with real-world practice. This helps bring subjects to life and makes learning more engaging, particularly in areas such as leadership, organisational behaviour, decision-making and applied psychology.

My sessions are relaxed, professional and judgement-free. Questions are always encouraged, and my goal is not only to help you succeed academically, but to leave each lesson feeling more confident than when you started.
