About Anand
Hi, I'm Anand. I'm the person you're about to spend an hour a week with, so it's only fair you know what you're signing up for.
I'm a university graduate with an MBA, which sounds impressive on paper and in real life just means I've read an absurd number of books and learned how to translate them for people who have better things to do. By day, I work as a consultant. Which is corporate speak for "I get paid to talk to people for a living." Actually, scratch that. Communicate with people. There's a difference, and that difference is basically my entire job.
Talking is just words leaving your mouth and hoping for the best. Communicating is words landing exactly where you wanted them to, in the order you wanted them to, with the meaning you actually intended. It's choosing between five words that technically mean the same thing but feel wildly different. It's knowing when to be blunt, when to be diplomatic, and when to just shut up and let the silence do the work. I do this all day, every day, with people who will absolutely lose interest if I'm boring. That's the version of English I want to teach you. Not the one from textbooks where everyone goes to the library and asks about the weather. The one that works in real life, with real people, who have real opinions about how you sound.
What I actually care about is that you leave each lesson feeling like you got somewhere. Not exhausted. Not lectured at. Not silently regretting your life choices. Just a little sharper, a little more confident, and ideally laughing at least once. I'm patient, I'm honest, and I'll tell you when something isn't working without making it weird. If you want a tutor who treats you like a capable human and not a problem to be fixed, we're going to get along just fine.

Here's a secret most English teachers will take to the grave. You're probably not bad at English. You were just taught it by someone who treated grammar like a religion and reading like a punishment. Then they handed you a worksheet, called it "fun," and acted surprised when you stopped caring. I'm here to undo all of that.
I teach English online to anyone brave enough to try again. The kid who reads a paragraph and immediately forgets it ever happened. The teenager who can talk for two hours about a show but stares at an essay prompt like it personally insulted their family. The adult who's been "intermediate" since 2014 and is starting to take it personally. The quiet writer with a story rattling around in their head, waiting for someone to say go ahead, write the weird thing. If you saw yourself in any of those, hi, we're going to get along.
My lessons aren't a script. They're a conversation that quietly turns into a workout, and you don't realize you've been doing reps until you're suddenly stronger. We start by actually talking, in normal human language, about what's tripping you up. Then we go after it. Sometimes that means cracking open a piece of writing to see what makes it tick. Sometimes it means writing something gloriously bad together and then making it good. Sometimes it's just talking, because half of learning a language is getting over the fear of using it out loud and sounding ridiculous. Spoiler: everyone sounds ridiculous at first. That's the toll.
A bit about me. I have a university degree and an MBA, which is a fancy way of saying I've spent years reading things that could put a horse to sleep and learning how to explain them to people before they lose interest. I'll bring that same energy here. No grammar jargon for the sake of sounding smart. No worksheets that feel like a hostage situation. Just real progress, the kind you can feel showing up in your writing, your reading, and the way you talk to yourself in English at 2am.
The first lesson is free. Come say hi, tell me what you want to be better at, and we'll see if the vibe is right. No hard sell, no pressure, no awkward goodbye. If we click, we keep going. If we don't, you still walk away with something useful, which is more than most free things in life can promise.
