About Meredith

I am deeply passionate about education, having returned to school to pursue an education in science after working in the arts. I am equipped to provide support in multiple arenas! I am versed in the sciences (social, natural, and life - experienced in chemistry, biology, genetics, anthropology and more), mathematics and more. I have excellent editorial and writing skills; helping students strengthen their writing in any arena is a passion. I love to teach study techniques too!

I understand the importance of college admissions and standardized tests in a student's academic journey. Therefore, I am well-versed in college preparation and test-taking strategies, including the SAT, ACT, and AP exams. I offer comprehensive support and guidance to students navigating the application process, ensuring they present their best selves to prospective colleges and universities.

About the lesson

My method is centered around a belief that all students are capable of excelling when given the right support. I focus on understanding each student's unique learning style, and building an understanding of material from their perspective, so that knowledge sticks and interest grows . My approach is individualized, dynamic and well-rounded.

I believe that learning should be a collaborative journey, and I approach each tutoring session with patience, empathy, and respect. I understand that every student has unique strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles, and I tailor my approach accordingly.

I believe in fostering a growth mindset in my students, empowering them to overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals. I provide constructive feedback, monitor progress, and celebrate achievements, encouraging students to strive for excellence and reach their full potential.

Beyond academic tutoring, I also offer guidance in developing essential study skills, time management techniques, and organizational strategies. I am committed to not only helping students succeed academically but also equipping them with the skills necessary for lifelong learning and personal growth.
