About Gil
I am currently completing the second year of a 3 year Maths with Economics BSc degree. Before this, I completed the IB with maths, economics and French as higher level subjects as well as 10 IGCSEs including both maths and further maths. I would say my greatest strengths are with calculus and algebra but I am also more than comfortable tutoring other topics such as trigonometry, geometry and probability.

I aim to do roughly 1 hour sessions via skype, this could be a one-time session for anyone looking for help with a specific topic or weekly sessions for those looking for continuous support covering multiple topics. Please note that I am very flexible in this respect and can accommodate for a variety of needs and expectations. Prior to any tutoring session I would ask for a digital copy of either the pages in a textbook, exercise sheet or any other relevant document covering the topic we would be looking at during the session. This would ensure that I am fully prepared for the session. As I will be helping you with maths and not something like history or literature, this limits the number of tutoring methodologies that are available. My approach is to adapt to each individual's strengths and weakness, adopting tactics that work and discarding those that don't as we go along. With maths, it has been my experience that practice is the best way to grasp complicated concepts or memorise certain formulas and their applications, and so, should you struggle with one of these issues, I will find or come up with example questions that you can do in your own time or in my presence. These would then be marked by me and for any questions answered incorrectly, solutions will be provided with explanations.
