About Gavin
I am an undergraduate at the University of Birmingham, reading for an integrated Master’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. I have obtained nine Grade 9s in my GCSEs, as well as achieving A*A*A* in A-Level Maths, Further Maths and Physics.
As an experienced STEM tutor with over 100 hours of one-to-one teaching, I specialise in GCSE and A-Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science. I have a proven track record of delivering rapid, tangible results, including boosting a GCSE Computer Science student from a Grade 4 to a Grade 7 in just 10 hours, and guiding multiple A-Level Maths students to predicted A* grades.
Beyond tutoring, I am deeply committed to the wider education sector and the creation of high-quality learning resources. I have collaborated directly with the popular A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics content creator, Bicen Maths, by writing original exam questions featured on his highly viewed exam-season revision livestreams.
I am also a budding long-distance runner who has completed three half-marathons and a 30k, with plans to run a full marathon in 2027.

I provide highly interactive 1 to 2 hour online lessons on Google Meet, aimed at ambitious Year 10 to Year 13 students who are targeting Grades 7 to 9 at GCSE or A to A* at A-Level.
Instead of simply lecturing, I use targeted prompting to guide you towards the correct answers, consistently analysing why a solution is correct or incorrect to sharpen your logical thinking.
My methodology prioritises rigorous exam practice, as applying concepts to real past-paper questions is the most effective way to improve and excel in STEM subjects.
Along with tailored lessons, I also keep my students accountable by assigning homework (usually in the form of past papers or exam question packs) to ensure consistent practice and continual improvement in grades.
Having achieved nine Grade 9s at GCSE and being predicted A*A*A* at A-Level, I leverage my recent firsthand success and deep understanding of the current exam specifications to give you a distinct competitive edge.
