About Cyril Max (Max)
Hi! I'm Max, a Mathematics and Finance student at Victoria University of Wellington, offering private maths tutoring for students.
I've been privately tutoring mathematics for several years and adapt lessons to each student's level and learning style. My aim is not just to help students get the right answer, but to make the underlying maths actually make sense. I'm happy to work with students who are struggling with maths as well as those wanting to push for higher grades

My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, whether they need help catching up, preparing for an exam, or want to push for higher grades.
I focus on helping students understand why a method works rather than simply memorising formulas and steps. We can work through current schoolwork, revisit topics they find difficult, practise exam-style questions, or build stronger foundations in areas such as algebra, calculus and statistics.
I adjust the pace and approach depending on the student and encourage them to ask questions whenever something isn't clear. My goal is for students to leave each lesson with a better understanding of the topic and more confidence solving problems independently.
