About Jenny
I am a maths teacher with over 25 years of experience in teaching and tutoring maths in my native UK and abroad in international schools with up-to-date DBS and Safeguarding Certificates. I specialise in working with students of all ages who want to increase in confidence with their maths studies and preparation for exams. I tutor students from 7 years old to adults including 11+/13+ entrance exams, GCSE, IGCSE, Functional Skills, IB Diploma & A level & Further Maths. My philosophy is that I can help anyone increase their level of achievement in maths. As a successful teacher, I am patient, sensitive and encouraging, and make sure I listen to what each student wants to improve on and find a learning style that suits them. Tutoring maths has given me so much personal satisfaction over the years. A maths qualification is a gateway to many things and it is a great feeling to share in my students' successes and the delight of their improved level of achievement. I worked with Jenny Haygarth when she was 'my' Head of Mathematics at the British International School in Lagos. I was the Pioneer Principal. The School opened in September 2001 and Jenny was part of the first international staff cohort. Apart from being an excellent Head of Mathematics Jenny coped very well with the stresses of being part of opening the school and working in a large city. I left Lagos in December 2006 but have kept in contact with Jenny over the years. I would thoroughly recommend her for this role.
Jenny is an amazing maths teacher because she is able to adapt her teaching from advanced level to those struggling to grasp basic concepts. She is very kind, calm and considerate; forming great relationships with her students. Jenny is a highly qualified and extremely experienced teacher and I would definitely recommend her as a tutor.
