Lots of maths involves problem solving, and much of the difficulty with this comes from lack of confidence. Therefore most of our lesson time will be spent tackling questions rather than the student sitting and listening to me talk. I would usually set a starter question on the topic we covered in a previous week and set a short piece of homework to help put the lesson’s work into long term memory.
