About Esme
I'm an undergraduate maths student at University of Manchester, who achieved A*s in GCSE and A level maths (and not even that long ago!) I'm on track for a first class degree, and am hoping to go on to do a master's so will be in the tutoring game for a good while yet. I've been working with young people for a good while already, I've been doing tutoring for friends and family since I was 16 and have since branched out. I volunteered at a local charity, supporting disadvantaged primary school children with homework and working one-on-one with GCSE maths students. All that means that I'm great at motivating people who'd really rather not be doing maths and I'm very familiar with the basics of primary school mathematics. Outside of the mathematics, I've also got Computer Science A level and a good deal of programming experience and have done some basic python teaching as well so can offer that as an added bonus! I'm cheerful, patient, up for a challenge and (being a mere undergraduate) not even that expensive! Esme tutored as volunteer at our after school Homework Club for Primary aged children for a school year. She has all the knowledge and skills to teach maths to all ages and across all subjects to the primary aged children we help. She is positive and enthusiastic, always willing to help other volunteers as well as the children , communicative and reliable.
Esme tutored me in Further Maths for A Levels. She was detailed in her explanations and helped me understand the more abstract parts of the course. Esme was patient, and always made sure I fully grasped the concepts. She was a large factor in my decision to continue my study of Mathematics at university level
