I focus on fully understanding why a certain approach or method is being used without blindly using formulas as I find this helps to cement different techniques into a students memory. In the tutorial, I tend to focus first on explanation, then moving on to some pre prepared questions and finally setting a couple of questions as homework if the student has time. Often a student has certain topics which they particularly struggle with and in the first lesson, I will attempt to identify these and rectify this. Finally, as you may imagine, I love maths and I hope I will be able inspire the student at least enough to succeed in which ever level I tutor them in.
I'm a graduate Mathematics student from the University of Bath. I'm 22 and I'm originally from Bedfordshire. I have 8A*, 5As at GCSE, including Maths and Additional Maths. I also have an A* in A-Level Maths along with an A at Further Maths, History and Chemistry. I have graduated with a 2:1 from the University of Bath in Mathematics. I'm from a large family with three younger siblings, I'm friendly and approachable and I am used to explaining and tutoring Maths and other subjects.
I charge £20/hour for Year 9 level and below and £25/hour for GCSE students. Travel costs are negotiable but I usually charge if the student is more than a 10 minute drive from Toddington.
