About Rishabh
I hold a Master's in Mathematics from NIT Rourkela, one of India's premier institutes. I also have a Master's in Psychology. I currently teach as faculty in the Mathematics department at university, alongside five years of tutoring experience.
My teaching combines strong subject knowledge with an understanding of how students learn. I start by finding out exactly where a student struggles, instead of guessing based on their grade. For school maths, grades 6 to 12, I focus on building understanding first, then practice. For SAT Math, I combine content review with timed practice, since most students lose marks to pressure, not lack of knowledge.
I teach online, working with students in the US and UK. Lessons usually run 50 minutes, extending to 90 minutes for SAT practice sessions.
My goal is simple: help students feel confident, not just prepared.

My approach starts with a diagnostic conversation in the first lesson or two, where I identify exactly where a student's understanding breaks down rather than assuming based on their grade level. Because I hold a Master's in both Mathematics and Psychology, I pay close attention to how a student learns, not just what they already know, so I adjust between visual explanations, step-by-step worked examples, and hands-on practice depending on what actually clicks for them. For school-level maths, I build conceptual understanding first and drill procedure second, since students who understand why a method works retain it far longer than those who just memorise steps. For SAT Math specifically, I blend content review with timed practice and pacing strategy, since most students lose points to pressure and anxiety rather than lack of knowledge, and I use that psychology background to work on confidence and test-anxiety alongside the maths itself.
My lessons typically run 45-50 minutes, which gives enough time to review previous material, work through new concepts, and finish with independent practice while I'm still there to catch mistakes; for focused SAT test-prep sessions closer to exam dates, I sometimes extend to 90 minutes to fit in full timed practice sections.
I currently teach as faculty in the Mathematics department at university and have 5 years of tutoring experience alongside that. My academic background spans both mathematics and psychology, which shapes the way I explain concepts and support students who struggle with confidence, not just content.
I work with students from grade 6 through grade 12, as well as those preparing specifically for the SAT Math section. Lessons are conducted online, so I teach students based in the US, the UK, or elsewhere, scheduled around their time zone.
