About Therick John
Hello, and welcome! I’m a dedicated Mathematics Tutor with experience teaching students from elementary through senior high school, both in person and online. I specialize in Algebra, Trigonometry, and Geometry, and I work one-on-one with Grade 6-12 students to make challenging concepts clear and manageable.
I believe every student can succeed in math with the right guidance. My lessons are tailored to each learner’s level and needs, and I explain every topic step by step until it truly makes sense. Teaching method and techniques
I teach one-on-one online and adapt each explanation to the student’s level and learning needs. I break concepts like PEMDAS, equations, inequalities, functions, and trigonometric identities into clear steps, then connect them to real-world problems so they make sense beyond the textbook. I use practice exercises, short quizzes, and learning activities to reinforce each lesson and check understanding, and I give constructive feedback to pinpoint exactly where a student is struggling.
A typical lesson plan
Check-in and review: Go over homework or questions from the previous session.
Concept explanation: Introduce or clarify the topic step by step, with worked examples.
Guided practice: Solve problems together, gradually letting the student take the lead.
Independent practice or quiz: Short exercises to assess understanding.
Feedback and wrap-up: Review mistakes, clarify difficult areas, and set practice for next time.
Before exams, sessions shift to targeted review, practice problems, and reinforcement of key concepts.
