About Bethany
I am currently a systems engineer with a master's in mathematics. I am passionate about helping students as I relate to the struggle of grasping mathematical concepts. I used to dislike mathematics and score poorly until the right teacher came along and explained things in a way that fit with my brain. I aim to help students discover their way of learning and understand concepts.

Every lesson is tailored to the individual student. I encourage students to tell me which topics they find most challenging, so we can focus on the areas where they need the most support. Alongside this, I work systematically through the course specification to make sure every topic is covered and that their understanding is secure.
My teaching style is patient, flexible and empathetic. If a concept doesn't click the first time, I'll explain it in a different way, using alternative examples or approaches until it makes sense. I believe that mathematics can often seem difficult because of how a question is presented, rather than because a student is incapable of understanding it.
My role is to find the explanation that works best for each individual.
Above all, I aim to build confidence as well as mathematical ability, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing a genuine understanding of the subject.
