About Lily

My interest in Mathematics began with a fascination for patterns, logical reasoning, and structured problem-solving. I pursued an M.Sc in Applied Mathematics to strengthen both my conceptual understanding and my ability to teach complex topics effectively. Over 12 years of teaching, I have guided students across elementary school math, middle school math, SAT math preparation, and introductory Calculus, helping them progress from uncertainty to clarity and confidence. I teach with patience, attentiveness, and adaptability. I tailor explanations to each student’s learning style using visual aids, practical examples, and step-by-step reasoning. I encourage questions and foster a mindset where mistakes are considered learning opportunities, helping learners develop resilience and self-assurance. Outside the classroom, I actively engage in mathematics through problem-solving, curriculum development, and ongoing study. Teaching Math is deeply rewarding because I witness learners grow in logical reasoning, independence, and self-confidence. Supporting students in recognizing their potential and achieving mastery is the most fulfilling aspect of my work.

About the lesson

Mathematics becomes meaningful and enjoyable when learners understand the reasoning behind each concept. My lessons cover elementary school math, middle school math, geometry, algebra, SAT math, and Calculus, emphasizing step-by-step reasoning, logical connections, and conceptual understanding. I create a supportive and calm environment where learners can explore ideas, ask questions, and gradually build confidence in problem-solving skills. Lesson content is tailored to the student’s level. Elementary school math focuses on number sense, arithmetic, and basic problem-solving strategies. Middle school math introduces geometry, proportional reasoning, and foundational algebra concepts through visual explanations and interactive exercises. Advanced learners tackle algebraic manipulation, SAT math strategies, and introductory Calculus concepts, focusing on accuracy, logical reasoning, and application. Carefully selected exercises reinforce understanding and promote independent thinking. Math lessons also cultivate patience, persistence, and analytical thinking. As learners gain clarity and logical insight, they become more willing to tackle unfamiliar challenges independently. Many students begin to view mathematics as structured, approachable, and rewarding. My goal is to help learners feel confident, capable, and motivated to excel in all areas of mathematics.
