About Rae
I have a PhD in mathematics (specializing in mathematical logic and computability theory) from the University of Notre Dame, and three years of postdoc experience at the University of Waterloo in Canada. I have been teaching for about four years. In addition, I have a background in philosophy of math and logic. I have a BA in phil and have taken 27 credit hours in graduate philosophy - just for fun! I've taught Math 135 at the University of Waterloo many times (intro to proofs - with applications to Algebra) and am looking to help anyone out who is in an intro to proofs course! My research specialty is in mathematical logic, and I would also be able to assist with any course in logic, whether it be introductory or a graduate course.

My lessons like to emphasize more of you doing, and less of me talking. I will typically start by introducing some of the material, then asking you to do some practice problems to solidify your understanding. We'll alternate back and forth like this. While you are working on practice problems, I'll be available for support and ready to tackle any questions that come up.
