About Abdullah

I am eager and always patient to help students understand subjects that they need most help with. I studied both Advanced Higher and Higher Mathematics along with Advanced Higher and Higher Physics. I am currently in my fifth year of University studying Aeronautical Engineering and have a high understanding of the SQA system. Where marks are achieved and how to answer the questions the SQA would want you to. I love sports such as football and basketball and also watch a lot of Formula 1 racing. I have 3 years previous experiece teaching on MyTutor and have gotten to enjoy tutoring various students at different levels.

About the lesson

I will begin by asking students for specific areas they are unsure about. Once I have identified the areas for improvement, and honed in on the student's specific needs, I will begin by covering the basic knowledge required for the topic. If necessary, I will spend a great deal of time on this as I believe once a student has grasped the basic concepts of a mathematical topic, I can start to set questions and problems of increasing difficulty from which they can learn the other skills. Once I have clarified the basics, I will explain complex techniques slowly and in an interactive manner - regularly asking questions to make sure the student is on board with what I am saying. To encourage learning, I always plan to do a review of the lesson before finishing and discuss next steps. I always encourage students to interrupt me or let me know if I am going too fast or to ask as many questions as possible. My main aim is to ensure the student is understanding the concepts.

He was always able to explain formulas and questions to me, even when my school teacher's explanations didn't make sense to me. His calm and helpful insights during lessons helped me while I was answering past papers with him. I was a B/C student but after tutoring I was attaining 90% and above in my prelims.
