We worked together as IB physics teachers in the same school. He also taught IB mathematics. He is an excellent teacher IB teacher. He knows and understands the IB physics course very well as he has been teaching it for a number of years. I have known Ciprian and worked with him for the past 13 ½ years. First as a mathematics teacher, then as IB Coordinator and finally as IB Diploma Coordinator and Deputy Principal in the Upper Secondary.

He is one of the most reliable people I know. He conducts himself with great integrity and with a devotion to the students which is beyond the norm. He loves the students and does everything in his power to make sure that they understand the subjects he teaches, (Mathematics and Physics and now, Introductory Computer Science).
He is highly educated and knowledgeable and constantly looks for areas in which he can improve himself. This is a huge example to young adults who will also need to reinvent themselves numerous times during their lives.
He gets his work done and does it to the highest standards. The students absolutely love him. They know that he cares. He doesn’t need to ‘entertain’ them to keep their attention. They learn willingly with Ciprian. He is a solid, knowledgeable teacher. The results he gets out of the students are highly commendable. He is very modest and claims they do it all themselves but we know that it is because he helps them to bring the best out in themselves.

I can always rely on Ciprian to help out when I have a sudden need for extra hands. He doesn’t hesitate to say yes if he is able to help. Having such a calm element in our midst helps students, parents and teachers alike. Ciprian is always ready to help his colleagues in any way he can and they feel comfortable asking him for help. He is patient but at the same time direct enough to help people with useful, concise information without wasting any of their time. He is very helpful to parents in sharing his ideas about how to help the students. He gives practical guidance which helps them a lot.

He has taken on the roles as team leader for the mathematics department (twice) and now the science department. The teachers feel grounded and supported by Ciprian as he performs these roles with confidence, decisiveness and care. He is not afraid to lead.
Ciprian initiated and implemented the Abel mathematics competition at OIS and then implemented the Physics Olympiad at OIS. These continue to be highly inspirational for the upper secondary students.

These are but a few glimpses of Ciprian and his inspirational personality, his knowledge, his amazing work ethic and his positive attitude which will always be a great asset to any path which he chooses to take. I can thoroughly recommend Ciprian to any employer.

Jeg følte meg privilgert å ha jobbet og blitt kjent med Ciprian Sima på en vgs hvor han var både matte og fysikk lærer. Elevene sier ærlig sine meninger. De fortalte meg stadig om en høy grad av respekt for Ciprian Sima som lærer. Han er tålmodig, og snill som dagen er lang, men han er også streng og har høy forventninger for elevens prestasjon. Han forventer disiplin og dette gir grunnlag for gjensidig respekt. Elevene deretter oppnår best mulig resultater som kan forventes av dem basert på sin utgangspunkt og engansjement. I starten kan en elev være litt skeptis av Herr Sima, for han er streng – det er ikke noe tull i hans klasse. Men så snart en elev har fått litt erfaring med han og begynner å forstå hans kunnskap, pedogogisk talent, og hans enormt stor hjerte, så forstår elevene at han er virkelig på sin side. De forstår at om de gjør det de skal, får de deretter de gode resultater som de streber etter.
Jeg kan ikke si nok godt om Ciprian Sima, som lærer og som person.

Mr. Sima is a fantastic teacher! He knows his mathematics and physics, he can explain difficult concepts simply, and he's great at using technology in teaching and learning. And maybe most importantly, he believes in his students and wants them to achieve their full potential.
